Both of had assumed i would not be able to get up and down the stairs very easily but apart from a very sore backside with the stitches still in there was no problem. i did however find it extremely hard to get comfortable sitting in a chair. we also had the task of letting our families and closest friends know of the depressing news. we will never be sure how we got through those first days especially as on the sunday morning i was back in the same hospital bed when the wound on my backside started to leak. it was about 4am after i had been to the toilet i noticed the dressing on my backside was rather wet and a pink colour. i hardly dare wake ann but she came into the room just as i was getting into a bit of a panic. a call to the hospital help eased the fears a little as they mentioned the colour was a good sign that nothing serious was going on. i was also asked to return and ended up in the same bed about 30 minutes later. my old friend was still there in the next bed and wasn't too surprised to see me when he woke up as he had been dreaming i would return. perhaps this was induced by our beds being near the nurse's area. a quick check of my temperature and examination by a doctor showed no signs of an infection which was good news even before mrsa had started to appear. although this calmed us down it was a disastrous start to our new lives and put an extra strain on ann for although we had had a day to think about the future together we were soon back to the afternoon visits and being apart. on a more humorous note there were only the two of us in the bay and my trusty friend pulled the curtains and added a sign `business class'. neither of us needed treatment and for a couple of days tried to put a lighter touch to our circumstances. we must really have confused the staff as we watched the tellytubbies on the television. luckily everything cleared up and on removing some stitches all the pressure was relieved and i was even able to sit without any pain on a chair. then on the wednesday ann took me home for a second time. there we were with the problems of coping with the news of the cancer, recovering from major surgery, the genetic possibility and getting to grips with a stoma which on its own was quite frightening at the time. whilst in hospital ann mentioned that the telephone hardly stopped ringing but when i came home it seemed to almost stop and whether this was as news of my having cancer became known or not is something we might never know. i suppose it could be awkward knowing what to say as after all there was no mention of this before my operation, the main aim was to prevent cancer occurring. at least we found who our true friends were. they were concerned for ann and myself and not just wanted to know the full details to gossip with others about like one close neighbour. we had never thought to ask about the simple things beforehand. things like "would i be able to get up the stairs"? how about walking and what energy would i have for the normal things in life. now, how would chemotherapy and cancer affect me and what could it do to stoma. we did know it might be around 8 to 12 weeks before i could drive which would put the pressure on ann as my taxi driver. it wouldn't be advisable to think of lifting much for three months but we also knew little things would become important and that sometimes there would be a step backwards to contend with. now we had time to talk to our children and explain all of what we knew. it was a very quiet time as we all thought about how it would affect all of us. at times it was almost like a dream and we hardly mentioned the fact it might be a genetic fault which might affect some of them. this was not because of feeling scared but because we didn't really know much about it and other problems, were there to be solved. 16 and poker chips rack.

Handled levers you pulled down to launch the spaceship or open the gates to flood the secret underground tunnels. it is just such a lever, albeit a smaller version - for smaller spaceships and smaller tunnels - which dr. frankenstein now begins to operate. a green light goes on, there is a slight buzzing followed by someone screaming. that's me! i screaming, not unreasonably, because my leg is on fire. as if in response, the pointer shoots around and clunks loudly at the far end of the dial. "resistance, " explains the doctor calmly in reply to my incoherent complaints. "if the synapses of the nerves aren't functioning properly an electrical charge builds up. that's what you're feeling. i'm sorry about the pain." he isn't sorry enough not to repeat the experiment on my other leg and then both my arms. each time i scream and each time the pointer swings and clunks. you can't but admire the subtlety of modern medicine. i suppose i should be thankful he didn't have igor crank me up to the roof for the full lightening treatment. * why is dr. frankenstein electrocuting me? have i done something wrong? probably. but whatever i have done, i not going to get away with a few minor flash gordon shocks. it is the next day and i've just been wheeled into an operating theatre. Forward the concept of downloadable games is nothing new. small free games have been available for download for many years. as a revenue-producing section of the industry though, web and downloadable games have come into their own over the past couple years. one of the places this is most apparent is at the annual game developers conference, held in march in california. when our group was forming in 2000 and 2001, few people seemed to understand what web downloadable titles were about. at gdc 2002 more people understood the market, and from the buzz you could start to see that this might become a significant portion of the game industry. at gdc 2003, web and downloadable games had a bit of a coming out party. there were numerous sessions devoted to the format, lots of developers creating these titles, and quite a few successful companies making the rest of the industry take notice. as of this writing we are getting close to gdc 2004 and it is very easy to see that the web and downloadable games industry is transitioning from the early growth stages of the past few years, and starting to become a more mature marketplace. several publishers and developers have found profitable and scalable business models, and have even begun leveraging their titles onto other platforms. we are seeing higher quality games, with more time and effort put towards their development. in a similar vein, this paper is evolving from those of previous years. instead of writing a single paper that attempts to cover the entire online games space, we broke the task into three separate papers, each targeted to a specific segment of the marketplace. the mobile gaming paper, and the persistent world games paper, will be available later this year. this paper is devoted to web and downloadable games. it is the result of work from more than 30 contributors, each of whom freely volunteered their time and expertise to create this document. in this paper we dive much deeper into the web and downloadable games industry than we were able to do in years past. we flesh out the details specific to these types of games, and as a result provide you, the developer, with a much more useful document than we could deliver before. one would be very hard pressed to find any single document that covers in more depth and detail the state of the web and downloadable games industry. our contributors have written about the overall marketplace, the various business models, and the technologies being used by developers today. they have gone beyond the catalog of publishers we have had in the past, and this year give us an overall perspective of the publishing space, as well as an in depth look at several of the key players. finally, we have numerous case studies providing specific details and examples on a given topic. our contributors have done a phenomenal job this year, much better than we ever could have expected. this is truly a paper that was created for the industry, by the industry. although this paper could not have been created without the efforts of all our volunteers, we would like to specifically thank elonka dunin for her tireless efforts in helping us edit and revise this paper from the work of many individuals, into the single cohesive report we now present to you. greg mills also deserves special mention for all of the effort he has put forth helping organize, plan, and execute on this project from the very beginning. finally, thanks go to radu fusariu of fuel industries for creating the graphics found throughout this report. the igda online games sig has ongoing efforts in numerous aspects of the online games industry. all of our projects depend on the time and efforts of our volunteers. if you'd like to give something back to the community, please volunteer to get involved. you can start by visiting our website at : igda online and signing up for our discussion list. on behalf of the contributing writers and the other members of the steering committee of the igda online games sig, we thank you for your interest in our white paper. with best regards, brian robbins editor, web and downloadable games paper senior creative technologist, fuel industries inc. brobbins fuelindustries john welch chair, igda online games sig vice-president of product & technology, atomshockwave corp. john shockwave and casino gambling video poker. "i'd like to thank turner properties for their sponsorship this year, " said hilton. team havoc heading to florida thanks to worth-bud light-usssa "e" world qualifier at kolping park mt. healthy, oh. team havoc won all five games it played, two by run-rule, as they took first place in the worthbud light-usssa "e" world qualifier at kolping park on july 8th. team havoc opened the day against the brown eye all-stars. it was a lopsided drubbing as havoc won 19-3 in five innings. brian boyle led all hitters going 4-for-4. andrew wise, josh sullivan, rick arnold, and josh storer were all 3-for-4. two of sullivan's three hits were triples. game two was a knock down, drag out slugfest between team havoc and angry dragons. the game had to go to extra innings to decide a winner. going into the 9th, it was still knotted at 19-19. in the top of that frame, angry dragons scored one run to take a 2019 lead. in their at bat, havoc got a leadoff single from josh sullivan. eric smith followed with a double that plated sullivan and tied the game again at 20-20. ricky arnold then drew a base on balls to bring dale schneider to the plate. schneider came through with a single that scored smith with the game winner. smith was the leading hitter at 6-for-6 with two doubles and a triple. ricky arnold was a perfect 5-for-5. josh storer and mike porter were both 3-for-5. Of family and domestic relations among hindu caste groups in central nepal. the women became, through the medium of tij songs, critical commentators on their lives in families and their various roles as daughters, sisters, daughters-in-law, and wives. over the course of our research skinner first attended tij sessions in naudada in 1986 ; , we watched young girls first hover on the periphery of the composition and practice sessions and then gradually take on a larger role. over the years they became proficient in re ; producing critical commentaries, and they developed, or so we infer from their descriptions of their concerns and choices in life, identities or self-understandings informed by this critical stance on women's positions within the family see holland and skinner 1995a ; . during the same years the groups underwent a heuristic development as well. our understanding of the tij festival as a ground for play, as a creative space for envisioning other worlds and subjectivities, deepened in our 1991 research. we realized that tij was even more dynamic than we had imagined. we learned that the tij groups could compose another type of song in addition to the dukha songs and that the previous boundaries on the time and space of tij groups were being breached. in 1991 those members of tij groups who identified themselves as students and educated women moved their groups to sing about the world of political parties and of antigovernment activity. these songs were not considered dukha songs but rather rajniti political ; songs. in 1990, as mentioned in chapter 10, a people's movement for democracy succeeded in abolishing the panchayat, or one-party, system of government. under the new constitution nepal's government was transformed from an absolute to a constitutional monarchy. political parties became legal and gained strength. these changes ushered in a feeling of freedom in political expression and a call for human rights. beginning in 1990, after the revolution, and especially in 1991, after the establishment of the multiparty system and general elections, rajniti songs were much more widely sung in the tij festivals. in 1990 a majority of the songs in naudada's festival referred to the world of family relations. in these songs the didi bahini attributed women's suffering to their bad treatment in the family. they disparagingly compared the treatment of daughters with that of sons; they called attention to the harsh treatment of daughters-in-law and wives by mothers-in-law and husbands. in contrast, a majority of the songs in 1991 criticized the government, old and new, for policies and practices that.

As we finish up the year, i would like to take this opportunity to thank all the officers, chairs, and volunteers for their hard work this past year. we have had a successful year with wonderful speakers at our meetings; activities including a wine tasting, bowling, and a holiday party. our career night was successful and all the feedback was all positive. our first annual free online poker game tournament was a hit. all the attendees i spoke with had a great time. thank you for your hard work. i looking forward to the upcoming year.

Carol, "oklahoma sarah" and i have been on a long free online poker game tour--we first went to dallas, texas-- then from there we flew to paris, france. this marks the fifth time that we have returned to the aviation club on the champs elysee in paris, france to host "the european seniors" poker tournament. the aviation club is a high limit club and it is possible to win a little something. most of the players play as if they were double parked. i sure needed to win because carol and our daughter "oklahoma sarah" did a lot of shopping for the paris creations on the champs elysee. i never like to talk about how much i may have won or lost in a poker game--but this time i did stay lucky and was able to give the girls a lot of euro's to buy all of those special things that you can only buy in the shops of paris. in fact we came to paris with five bags--and left france with seven. yes, they play with euro's and most all of the games are pot or no limit. the girls loved to eat in the five star restaurants of paris--but being a country boy, i will be happy to get home and enjoy some home cooking in las vegas next week. it rained almost each day we were in paris. i had heard that the rain in spain always stayed most of the time in the plain--but i think that at this time of year all the rain just moved up into paris. then we were off to new york. the rain followed us there, and yes, the girls wanted to see the town--go to the shows and then a little shopping on fifth avenue. after they shopped until they almost dropped, i had to rent a big car to hold all of the wonderful things that they bought. they carefully explained to me how much they had saved on each and every one of their purchases. now we are at the beautiful new hotel of the seneca nations of indians in niagara falls, new york. mike gainey, the director of poker operations, has really gone all out to make sure that everyone of all the poker players are treated first class. mike told me that the hotel was so new that we were the first to sleep in the rooms that he provided for us. mike has created a poker tournament called the world poker classic wpc. this poker happening began january 24th and will wind up february 2, 2006. i honored that he invited our daughter "oklahoma sarah" to sing the the star spangled banner at the opening of the event that he named for me--the oklahoma johnny hale poker championship. i was pleased to host this no-limit hold'em poker tournament on friday the 27 of january, 2006. there were 136 poker players who paid 0 + 30 and 100% took the one-time option to contribute to "the seniors" charities--50% of these charitable contributions were given to the local seneca nations of indians charities.
