"at any given time we have about 20 to 30 active members." as the technician, it is her job to run the kiln, but if a member wants to learn how to use the kiln, there is a committee of members who can teach them, said wigmore. I want to give a big thank you to those hacienda hog 97 members that volunteered for the recent kick start party, poker sets run, bad guys golf tournament and the loh annual shoe drive for the children's crisis nursery. your hard work, coupled with our hog 97 members participation, helped make the events a big success. march was a busy month filled with many important events. one of the events that i was fortunate to attend, along with several other board members, was the harley davidson's primary officer's training in las vegas. the training's focus was to help us identify obstacles that prevent our chapter's growth, as well as developing a stronger, more cohesive partnership with our members. the event showed me just how talented and dedicated the harley davidson's staff is in their support of the h.o.g. harley owner's group ; chapters. until i attended the seminar and watched the presentation, i never really grasped the magnitude of how large an organization we belong too. the harley owner's group spans 130 countries with over 1, 314 chapters and more then a million members. i believe we had 856 participants in our class, which included members from as far away as china. the training was well organized and consisted of "classroom" participation, but we had plenty of time to meet with other chapter officers and share many of the similarities as well as the diversities of our communities. the most common challenges that all of the chapters seem to face are motivating members to participate consistently, either by volunteering, or by just attending the activities or events. the 2007 board members will be working diligently to implement the information that we learned in order to meet our goals to increase our chapter's growth and participation. we hope that you will work with us by giving us your input and feedback. we will be actively listening and supporting your ideas. remember, hog 97 is your chapter and our job is to represent you. looking ahead, we have several events planned for the coming months. please refer to your calendar of events found at hog97 for all of the details. a big event, worthy of mentioning, is our upcoming quarterly meeting. this is scheduled for june 10th at the tonto natural bridge. last year we had a good turnout, with many of our members attending and enjoying the beauty of the outdoors. this year we are planning for an even larger turn out. current members and win at poker.
